Fairfield Library Holds 'Antiques Roadshow'-Style Book Appraisals

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- In the tradition of “Antiques Roadshow,” the Fairfield Public Library is offering complimentary book appraisals on Sunday, Nov. 13, at 2 p.m. in the Memorial Room at the main library, 1080 Old Post Road.

Book expert Ray Rickman will be on hand to talk about what makes a book valuable and what types of books have the highest retail value.

He will also offer complimentary estimates of up to three books.

Rickman, who served as both a state representative and deputy secretary of state in Rhode Island, is currently a rare book dealer in Providence.

He was also the host of the former Rhode Island Public Television show “Bestsellers,” a book review and author interview program.

The book appraisal event is free. Space is limited.
